  • Comment: The Guitar Hanger is a stringed instrument hanging storage device designed to hang your instrument from the horizontal rod in your closet. With a clawed hook similar to, but more sophisticated than, a guitar wall hanger, The Guitar Hanger does a good job of storing my guitar in the closet out of sight of casual guests and up off the floor like on a typical guitar stand. I like the idea of being able to grab my guitar at a moments notice without the chore of getting the guitar case out.
    The Guitar Hanger consists of an upper hook part made of stainless, I believe, designed to hang from the closet rod and hold the lower hook portion which grasps the two sides of the headstock of the guitar. The similarity to the hook on a guitar wall hanger ends there. The resilient black overmolding on the two claws of the hook is soft enough to avoid scratching the finish on the guitar while the hard plastic back flange of the claw slips precisely into the bottom loop of the upper wire part. Thus the Guitar Hanger can be slipped apart and instantly reassembled, making it a natural for use in hotel closets while traveling. Disassembled, the two parts could fit in a guitar case or gig bag, as demonstated on [...].
    The two claws of the hook curve a little closer together at the front, making the grasp of the hook around the headstock very secure in case of any jostling that may occur of the other contents of your closet. Also, you have the option of putting your guitar in the claw frontwards or backwards to accomodate unusual headstock shapes.
    Is it worth more money than a wall hanger? You bet it is. Precisely made, lightweight, portable, strong, secure, fits most guitars, and it came with an Is It Hanging? bumper sticker.

    The price seems high for a simple design. I'm not one who thinks everything should be sold cheap or be given away for free, but at over twice the price of the wall mount guitar hangers, it seems overpriced. I look forward to someone's review saying if the price is justified.
